This is something I learned the hard way: Buy your air pump and test himself in the shop. You see, all air pumps air pump. It's what they do. But not all do it quietly. You literally plug it while in the store and find out how strong he is. I would recommend a specific brand, such as Whisper or something else, but the new models they do are all different. A company can make a good airpump a year and then a very strong one next year. Quality is very dependent on that particular model, not necessarily the brand. I tried to buy online air pumps that were qualified by the size of my tank, and he received was stronger air pump ever more terrible. Buy in person and try before you buy. Good luck:)
