Son-multiple strips for freshwater aquariums accurate?
I have an Oscar tank and I use Jungle brand "Quick Dip 6 tests in a strip "test strips.They test for nitrate, nitrite, hardness, chlorine, alkalinity and PH. Basically all except ammonia. I have this color wheel that aims to the inside of the tank under the water level that shows the ammonia appears to be fine.I reading.Everything just want to know how accurate these things Oscar is active are.The and eat well, but the higher fine has changed from black to brown color.I bought three days ago and is about 2.5 inches
Oscars are large fish and live up 15 years if treated properly. I have had many during my years in the hobby. Grow an inch a month with a proper diet and good water quality (Changes enough). Personally, I use the evidence of liquid water for me when I want to know what happens. Maybe it's just me, but I think the liquid testers are more accurate than ….. are ah * ll of a lot cheaper too. Cheaper is better. I had one of those color wheels too, never changed color and began to fall to the bottom of the tank, so I threw it away. If you do your 40-50% water changes every week as you would an Oscar (it's dirty people that put out waste more than other fish) should not have any problem with your water parameters. I do partial water changes on all my tanks every week and do not bother my waterproof unless you see something that looks good. Water changes keep all chemicals in low or nonexistent, and the pH will stay where it should too. You can add some trace elements for South American cichlids if you want, I can add trace elements to my Rift Lake African cichlids and freshwater trace elements tropical cichlids for me and SA. Many fish will be much healthier with these trace elements added. Some are essential for reproduction and maintenance of a good color in your fish. I also think more vitamin flake food for all my fish. Be careful not to start feeding your fish live oscar feeder fish shop. The feeders can bring all sorts of parasites and diseases of the outdoor ponds raised in. Oscar get along very well on pellets of high protein. The higher it is, the greater the pill must be for him. I was 5 oscars in a tank of 125 g of long ago and ended up feeding them high protein, high-quality dog food pellets when I heard the fish feed to be bad for them. They loved the balls were good eaters. 8
