How much time should be light-eared slider turtle-Rojo, implementation of the aquarium?
We have two new turtles, both three years. We an aquarium, a light, some weird plastic rocks, and bottom feeders (to help keep clean the aquarium). I think I have all the basics down, but the amount of light and the aquarium should look like makes me confused. I have to turn off the light at night (only have one)? How much time should be in the light? Is there to buy a submersible heater to maintain hot water, or is it a dark night light better? On the other hand, what the region should look like? We like turtles to hide under things, and so I'm reading, which should provide basking areas in both places and the rest of the aquarium for them. Is this right? Another concern I have is to put fresh water in. I know that the water should be the right temperature when you put on, but I do something? Should we let the water stand for 48 hours or using de-chlorination agents? Please please please help. It would be greatly appreciated.
I've had two sliders for 36 years plus one year and 7 years and one year of age 5. That's how I took care of them for 36 years. If your turtle has a persistent fungal infection that home treatment is not curing, take it to the vet for treatment. There are several medications available that can treat a fungal infection if it has spread too far. Respiratory Infections Slider turtles and other aquatic species susceptible to respiratory infections. Most respiratory infections that can affect sliders are mild and easily treated in its early stages, but also there are some particularly virulent infections that can kill a turtle very quickly without veterinary attention. Sliders usually develop respiratory infections when your tank is too cold. Symptoms of infection include a runny nose, wheezing, swimming uneven (one patient survivability of lung changes the turtle) lethargy, and refusal to eat. If you identify the disease in its early stages, you may be able to treat by removing the sick in the neighborhood bar in a tank new and clean (especially if you keep multiple sliders, since most respiratory infections are contagious) and keeping a few degrees warmer normal. Heat is the most crucial factor in treating respiratory infections in the home.
