Aquarium simple questions?
I'm getting a 5 gallon aquarium and I have some pretty simple questions … is this a ….?( animals stocked with "!" s really want) * 1 African dwarf frog! * 4 Otos / dwarf sucker mouth catfish * 6 small tetras! (Those who get up to 2 ") which would be a good kind of tetra to get, such as color, size, and rational behavior? the room is in the tank is black white and red, and green plants aquarium will and probably imitation white gray roots of trees and gravel. does it matter that my tank (five gallons) comes with a compact 15watt incandescent bulb instead of fluerescent? will continue the work of the plants right? plants do they have in general at PetSmart? going to have some kind of moss? and some kind of small foreground plant? I want the kind of tetras that rise no more than 2 "so they can catch up as 1.5" and stuff like that! thnx
If you get 6 Neon Tetras and an African dwarf frog, then there is overcrowding, as long as you have some type of filtration tank cycles 6 + times per hour. If you add 4 Otos, then it is crowded, even with the leak. I suggest you have 5 Neon Tetras and 1 Oto. Incandescent bulbs are not a very good choice for the cultivation of aquatic plants. Unless you're growing low light plants like Java Fern Java Moss and then glow will not work.
