What is the best way to move an aquarium fish pond outdoors?
Recently I bought 4 goldfish in my local fish store and put them in my outdoor pond. They next day they were all dead. My best guess is that the water was much colder than the aquarium store. What I can do to make a better transition between the bag for the pond?
you choose a spring day, mild with an equally mild week ahead. these were common / comet / Shubunkin goldfish right? fancy goldfish are much more delicate and not really strong enough for the life of pond. you need to acclimate to the lake just as you would a tank. float them for an hour or two, or more, gradually introducing pond water to the bag, and letting the temperature become accustomed. goldfish ponds should ideally be filtered and big enough the big pond for goldfish? ponds can have peaks as well as ammonia tanks.
