Why do I have orange spots on the plastic plants and a decoration in my tank freash water?

It sounds like brown algae. Robyn's site (linked below) – ~~~~~~ "Brown Algae Aquarium: brown algae are actually algae diatoms and not true. They wrap ornaments and false real plants, glass, and gravel with a thin, dark brown. Brown algae prefer low light levels. Usually they grow in new tanks or those with low levels light. The increase in the intensity or the number of lights may slow growth of brown algae, but in turn, increase the growth of other algae. Brown algae is easy to remove physically with a pad of algae, that do not adhere as strongly as green algae. While some snails and algae-eating fish are inadvertently eating a some brown algae, most of the fish feed on algae and green algae prefer brown algae eats only if they have no alternative power supply. Otocinclus and Plecostomus are most likely to eat fish. Pools: Brown algae is less common in outdoor ponds because there are a lot of sunlight, and algae brown as low light levels. It can grow in the darkest areas of the lagoon. Robyn "~~~~~~ find the best source to learn about different types of algae and what can be done about them. It also provides links to more information. I doubt that the fungus, and if so, there are medicines that kill. I would first operate on the assumption that is brown algae and act accordingly. Fungus is found in fish, not the plants and decorations. If is a fungus, you will notice a problem with your fish over time, but again, I know of fungi that can not be treated. If you empty the tank of all, you lose cycle. Also, I know of no safe cleaner-FISH. If one is out there, I'd love to see it. ANIMAL insurance is NOT the same as FISH insurance. No concerns animals that live in water and breathe! PLEASE do not use cleaners on or in your tank.
