How long does it take to heal the burn ammonia in a goldfish?
I think my fish had ammonia burns. It has black spots on it, I think it means that ammonia is the healing of burns. I did a water change. Ammonia is now 0 ppm, nitrites 0 ppm, and pH is about 7.6. I have also carbonate hardness and General hardness testing solution, but I lost the color cards that tell what the color. Can any of these tests affect the process healing from ammonia burns? If they do, could someone please give me a site that has the coloring cards for the solution of KH and GH testing? I use the Master Test Kit Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Inc. Is there anything else I can do besides water changes to accelerate the healing of ammonia burn?
I had once with a torpedo barb, jumped in the tank immediately and have red spots all over .. jeeps that although it was lost. I used a melifix / pimafix combined (dose day 6) I think it heals or helps Melafix wounds, but I always combined the two if I use. He held off lights in the tank for 2 days (only not to be nervous) for you and thats for about 10 days he was fine. If given a stress free environment that heal very quickly. good luck to!
