Betta with other fish?

I have a 55 gallon aquarium with 4 Mollys, 6 cherry red beards, two snails, frogs 2 and the beta one. I only put the beta there because the lady of the fish store said that much space and it would be cool. I went online and did some research and saw that it was the beard "chuck end" and it would be very nice to my beta. I have been very closely watching the tank and never even see any fish peak in the beta. When I bought the beta version was with other fish too. Though I have seen 2 times burst into his reflection, but never at another fish? I refer in particular I think the little guy is swimming happily through all plants, rocks with small holes, and enjoy yourself, but I want to make him and the other fish would be fine. He has been with them for 4 days now. Should I do it? Or do you think is right?

I have kept bettas with spikes of pink and they were fine. I think if you have six are supposed to be too busy bothering one another to mess with anyone. I leave it there, but keep a close eye on things.
