What kind of disease is a fish that if you sit in the bottom of the tank?
I have a 45 gallon aquarium with water three parrot cichlids sweet. During the past week, the largest tree is at the bottom and move their fins normally as if s / he was swimming. The fish's skin looks normal. He is eating normally and do not behave differently than others before the meeting at the bottom of the tank. When I go to feed them, he usually nothing like all other fish. About six weeks ago, have successfully treated hole in the head with the disease this same fish. Water conditions are clear with the temperature between 77 and 79 degrees. Does anyone have any idea for thaty disease process may be happening here? I appreciate your thoughts in advance!
It seems like Fish suffering from swim bladder. Swim or problems with the air bladder sometimes occur in freshwater fish. I have personally seen this is fancy goldfish such as Oranda, Ryunkins, and parrot fish and shubunkins. When the bladder is performed, the fish are experiencing problems with balance. Sometimes the problem is not the bladder, but other problems which directly affect the bladder. Sick and inflamed internal organs, poor water conditions or nutrition, and wounds received from fighting with other fish also can affect the balance of the fish. Constipation is also known to affect the ability of a fish swimming! Symptoms: The fish has problems swimming correctly. May appear to stand on his head, or you have trouble removing themselves from the bottom. In advanced stages of the disease, the fish may lose its balance and swim backwards. Treatment: There is no specific treatment for this dilemma, however, you can try isolating the fish to a quarantine tank where the water is low deep (this provides relief to fish). Add one teaspoon of salt per gallon of water. Some people feed thawed out frozen peas and this system purges the fish and has been reported to help many fish. After 1-2 weeks a return to the main tank with deeper water can be judged. The best advice I can give is to maintain adequate water conditions, feeding of fish a well balanced diet, and possibly try feeding the fish with sinking food instead floating rate. Do not inhale as much air this way. The pellets if soaked in water before feeding the fish before eating them expand and this has helped a lot. Good luck with that!
