What kind of fish you would if you had a 20 gallon reef nano?

My plan is to start a reef tank soon and want to know something I can put fish in it. I'm already interested in getting a clown fish ocellaris for it. Also what type of corals you want to? I will be receiving Fiji live rock on the road. Thanks to the helpers.

A pair of ocellaris would be a good option. You can also keep an anemone if you have enough lighting strong. Lighting is the key to what you're able to keep corals alive. I hope you've already done some research about it and know about the lighting needs for photosynthetic any of the animals – coral, anemones, clams, etc. You must have at least one compact fluorescent or 5-T system for soft corals, a halide metal, or MH-CF system combination of hard corals. The range hood with a fluorescent tube that comes with most tanks do not provide enough light for these – a double fluorescent tube can not. Along with the type of system, we must also look at the wavelength of light. The corals come from about 30 feet under water or so so the satandard fluorescent tube light off is too "yellow" for most organisms. A K 10 000 is a better color, and some people like 50/50 tubes or the addition of 3% actinic if more than one device. I personally use twin-tube compact fluorescent with a 10,000 K and actinic March 1. These are on independent timers, so you can use the actinics (light blue) to simulate a sunrise, then turn the 10,000 ks an hour late to do "During the day, then shut down the 10,000 Ks an hour before the actinics for a sunset." Some of the corals easier to maintain if you are just are beginning mushrooms, clove polyps, zooanthids, and hides. There are others, but these will give you a good selection of shapes and colors and all are quite easy to maintain and propagate. Some other possibilities for the fish (though not with two clowns, are territorial) would clown gobies, shrimp gobies (and you could get a gun shrimp to keep them), firefish, and smaller blennies and loudmouth.

DIY Moon Light - Make Your Own!

DIY Moon Light – Make Your Own!

Aquarium owners have provided artificial sunlight for their tanks for many years. There are many different types and styles of day time lights, but not much attention has been given to night time lighting. In the evening, typically it is lights out and the fish, corals, invertebrates, etc., are left in the dark. However, in their natural environment, it is seldom totally dark. The moon gives of…
