Is it a filter with a filtration capacity exceeding the needs of an aquarium, better than suggestested tanksize filter?
EXAMPLE: A filter capable to 80 gallons. about a girl of 30. tank. Are you going to maintain very low nitrate level and allow more fish in the tank? If so, the filter is better a penguin or an emperor. Also, what happens to a protein skimmer and powerhead, what is the best cheapest in the market for a girl of 30. What else I need (Configuration slatwater):: I have a girl 30. tank, stress coat, Cycle, quick dip testers, hydrometers, mixed salt, 10 pounds of live rock, gravel, Aqua safety, air pump. The tank has been cycling for almost two weeks with live rock and snails on a lower filter, the additives / water conditioners (Cycle, Stress Coat, etc.) I have to buy a better filter Bio wheel assembly and a protein skimmer. If im missing something, let me know that you could use the help.
My tank has been doing much better after I put a larger filter on mine. My levels have been much more controlled, and the water is much clearer. I was using a filter 20 gallons in my 20 gallon tank, I switched to a 50 gallon filter and seems to be doing wonders in my tank. My fish are about 1 "and does not seem to have trouble swimming upstream. I can definitely say your pulling more than the old filter, since any food that comes out of the water truck applies to the filter. I asked a similar question a while ago I bought just before the filter, and it was basically him said he can not have much more to the leak.
