Filter Pad
Filter Pad

How long for the filters are housed in the aquarium?
I have a small aquarium that has a filter with a filter pad. I changed when I did a water change, but decided to pull the old filter in the tank for good bacteria remain in the water. I put in another filter from another tank I have, also – for a total of a new filter and two old (The old are in the bottom of the aquarium – the fish think they are the decoration). My question: how long take for the good bacteria to adhere to the new filters? I really rather not keep the filters in not too long — they do look quite ugly. Its not pads filter, as it also look like sunken ships or siren or whatever. How long until you can throw them away?
The bacteria is balancing act and only live long enough to support the production of ammonia, so all the new filters do not produce much if the age is still filter in. A population of Large bacteria can double in a couple of easy days for your very quick. However, a small town takes forever (cycling in the tank) to seed the new filters that I would do something like cut the old filter pad booming with bacteria and place with new bio-media. In the vicinity is grown very fast. Every couple of days to remove some pieces of filter pad until it stops. The bacteria will produce more deficits and new media. If the filter pad "mud" in which bad reputation in all ways. This material is gold. If your really concerned buy Seachem stability and dose in transition. good. good luck!
