pantyhose are safe for use in aquariums??
I have a 10 gallon aquarium filter with a large outer box. Take the big bags filter glass wool filled activated carbon. For some reason, the wool is still breaking in addition in about 2 weeks, and carbon leakage around the tank. It a real pain to clean! I read that you can use nylon stockings filled with peat to soften the water. But I was wondering if it is safe to use the average age is about 15% spandex to wrap around the filter cartridge to prevent carbon leakage everywhere. I asked my dad, and he said the spandex decomposed by time, and may be toxic to fish, but a second opinion does not hurt! Thanks to everyone who answers!
Nylon stockings are great to use to fix carbon in the tank. By the time the spandex would break into your tank, fish are very old. It takes years. A few days or weeks. Rather I use them myself. Spandex in this form is not toxic.
