Driftwood Aquarium
Driftwood Aquarium

Fresh water aquarium. Eucalyptus Driftwood?
Can anyone help please? I have set up a freshwater aquarium, and found a bit of a branch of Eucalyptus wood in a paddock which was brittle dry. The tank has been running now for just under one and a half months. I thought because of this piece of wood was so dry that I placed it in my tank without treating it. My tank has Tetras only and I`ve lost 1 Rosie, 3 Thredfins out of 8, 2 Diamonds, 1 Pencilfish.
Can anyone tell me if this driftwood is to blame please?
Thanks Guy`s & Gal`s.
John
sorry bud but it was the branch alright. never evr put ne thing in ur aquarium that is not sanitized and safe from chemicals. the branch u used probably intoxicated ur fish with oils and other chemicals leaking out of the branch. and kill ur fish almost overnite. i would remove the branch and clean everything. rinse the gravel out with hot water. rinse out ur filter/ decorations. everything and restart ur tank. i would add seachem stability to help with the cyclng process.
