Can anybody tell me about sea hares in a salt water aquarium?
I fell in love with a sea hare that I saw at my lfs. He was so interesting and super cute, now I want one LOL!!! I can’t find any good info about them anywhere on line. Does anyone have one in their home aquarium? It is my understanding that there are some that shoot purple dye when scared. Do they all do that? I have an up and running 40 gallon long peaceful salt water aquarium and I would love to add one, would that work? I also was thinking of purchasing a nano-bio cube style tank. Cold he live in there if I did a species only tank and just had 2 of them in there. I would supplement feed of course.

They can be a problem in your aquarium and that chemical that it releases can seriously damage fish or corals inside of the main aquarium.
If you really want one i would try a 12 gallon nano tank, some live rock and some marco algaes and raise it in there.
