Wild fish in aquarium with pet store fish?
My brother got a catfish and a bass out of my lake, they are both simliar in size to my fish I already have in my freshwater aquarium. I have cichlids so I know there is a chance they could just get eaten but is is safe to mix these fish? My dad says they might have diseases that will get my fish sick. ???
How large is your tank? Do you plan on keeping them as pets? How largeis the catfish and bass?
The reason I ask is both catfish and bass can become quite large and I’m sure if they are kept as pets they will grow more rapidly than they would in the wild. You could keep the catfish, I know people who have and there is catfish food on the market but I don’t know about the bass.
To give them both a decent life (if you want to keep them as pets) you need to know what type of food they eat. I don’t know if they could eat pet fish food, especially since I know there is catfish food on the market.
Also I would find out if the cichlids water type is the right water type to keep the catfish and bass in. I know cichlid’s need ph levels to be between 7.5 to 8.5 range, is it the same for a catfish and a bass?
These are just some questions I would consider.
